Why an app?

There seems to be an app for everything now.

They've become part of everyday life for most of us - and if we don't know how to use them ourselves, we'll probably know someone who does!

And it's exactly because they're so popular nowadays - and so easy to use - that Tenpin has joined the app revolution.

We're always looking for new ways to add value and fun to your Tenpin visit - and our app does both!

App history

A mobile application, or 'app', is a computer program designed to run on smartphones, tablet and computer devices.

They popped up in 2008 but their popularity has exploded in the past few years. Impressively, the average smartphone user now has more than 80 apps on their phone, using 10 of them per day, and 30 each month.

In 2023, there are more than 63 billion smartphone users across the world, so it's little wonder the app industry is thriving.

The Apple Store currently has around 1.96m apps available for download, with a staggering 2.87m available on Google Play.

But one of those is the important Tenpin Rewards App - so let's learn a bit more about it!

How does our app work?

Firstly go to wherever you get your apps from - usually Google Play or the Apple Store.

Download the Tenpin Rewards App for free onto your device - and suddenly, a new world of value opens up.

All you then have to do is make your bookings online through the Rewards App or Tenpin website to collect points. These points can then be exchanged for money off vouchers - simple!

What do points make?

Points make savings at Tenpin!

For every £1 you spend online with us, you earn 50 points. Subject to conditions, these can then be redeemed for money off vouchers towards your next visit.

As an example, every 5,000 points entitles you to £5 off bowling, food or drink, karaoke and even laser tag (at participating centres - please check www.tenpin.co.uk for which centres offer these activities).

Just convert your points to vouchers through the Rewards App and use towards payment on your next purchase (note - vouchers can only be spent on purchases made via the Rewards App).

What else can I use the app for?

The app provides another way of trimming your bill through our fun, daily 'Spin the Wheel' game of chance.

Give it a go each day and you could end up adding points towards your money off vouchers.

Basically, the more you spin, the more you can win!

Also, every time you visit Tenpin, you can download your scores onto the app.

That way, you can keep track of how well you've done and even use it to create a virtual competition with your friends.

Who's Teg?

When you come to a Tenpin centre, if you look closely enough, you'll find special badges hidden around the venues.

Whenever you find one, scan it with your mobile phone and, through the magic of our app, you'll uncover a world of incredible AR (Augmented Reality) Tenpin characters.

We won't say too much here - other than you're sure to enjoy interacting with them! And every time you release one of our tenpin AR friends when you visit a centre, 100 points will be added to your balance.

But the fun doesn't stop there because when you've revealed your fourth character, Teg the robot is released!

Teg is a truly interactive character that you can take anywhere with you.

And once Teg's into your life, you'll be entertained by his antics as he runs around at home, at work or amongst the activities in our centres.

But remember - our AR characters can only be seen through the lens of a phone. Simply follow the treasure trail and find the markers to reveal a character.

Bit and pieces

Your points are valid for 365 days. And once you redeem them for a voucher, the voucher will remain valid for 365 days too.

But remember - you won't earn points if you book in centre, so make sure you book on the website or through the app.

And you don't have to book an activity to earn points - you can continue to earn them through our daily Spin the Wheel game.
