Young Man Rolling A Bowling Ball Down The Lane At Tenpin

Fun in the valleys - Tenpin in Wales

Wales, the Land of My Fathers - Hen Wlad Fy Nhadfaum!

Bordered by England and the Irish Sea, Wales is a proud nation of more than 3.1m people.

Sporting-wise, it's perhaps best known for the excellent national football team and its sheer passion for rugby.

But don't worry Welsh ten pin bowling fans - you don't have to cross the border to get your fix.

Tenpin has 3 fabulous centres in Wales - so let's take a look at each of them.

Cardiff

The 11th largest city in the UK, the magnificent capital of Wales, Cardiff, has attractions galore. But even with a wealth of entertainment options, we're confident Tenpin is right up there with the best.

Located at Cefn Coed Parc on the Treforest Industrial Estate in Caerphilly, just 8 miles from the city centre, our Cardiff complex has 24 lanes, so we're almost certain to fit you in.

Not only that, if you like your bowling loud, proud and colourful, we have fantastic lane lighting effects - ideal for diverting people's attention from that bowl that ends in the gutter!

You can bowl from early until late and you're sure to be looked after by our friendly team. Our fantastic bowling birthday parties on Saturday and Sunday mornings are always a huge hit with the kids!

But it's not all about bowling. Tenpin Cardiff has lots of other attractions, including fun arcade games, table tennis, air hockey and pool tables.

Tasty food and drink are also available, plus TNT and Sky Sports.

And don't worry about forking out for parking - it's free!

Don't take our word for it, though - there are plenty of great reviews on popular website Tripadvisor.

Ashleigh, for example, writes:

"
Loved my visit here a few months back. Nice to see the bowling lanes have been updated with a modern ipad to set up names etc. Staff were all friendly and attentive, can't remember any names sorry! Will definitely be back."

And then there's the tale of romantic Ray J, who may not have found love, but LOVED Tenpin! He posted:

"
Came here on a first date and felt quite awkward but the staff were so lovely, they helped calm me down. Leah and Arron couldn't do enough for serving us food and drinks and Cerys on reception was super! Unfortunately, the date didn't go well but I will be back with friends."

Swansea

A quick trip along the M4 gets you to Swansea - Wales' second largest city, enjoying an enviable position on the Gower peninsula.

Birthplace of renowned poet Dylan Thomas, Swansea has lots of entertainment centres, including the Grand and Palace Theatres, Swansea FC's Liberty Stadium for football lovers and, for ten pin aficionados, Tenpin Swansea!

Our Tenpin centre is at Parc Tawe in The Strand and, as with Cardiff, it's a brilliant venue for a fun day, or night out. And at 26 lanes, it even has 2 more than Cardiff!

There's brilliant bowling, arcades, pool and table tennis, and delicious food and drinks from our licensed bar, which shows TNT Sports and BT Sport.

Parking is free for the first 2 hours. You can extend the free parking period by entering your vehicle registration number on tablets in our reception.

And just like Tenpin Cardiff, people have been singing our Swansea centre's praises on Tripadvisor.

A great way to spend a couple of hours in this well-appointed centre. Staff were very helpful and friendly, whilst being professional. Children and adults all had great fun. Hopefully go again."

And it was a great experience for mum-to-be Rebecca, who posted:

"
Staff very friendly, especially Eric who was very helpful and attentive, and brought me over a chair as I'm heavily pregnant. Great game of bowling. Would highly recommend. Excellent service overall. Will definitely be coming again."

Wrexham

North Wales shouldn't miss out on the Tenpin experience; our Wrexham complex ensures it doesn't!

In recent times, the city's football team and its film star owners, Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, have occupied thousands of column inches with their remarkable journey back to the Football League.

But have they ever been to Tenpin, I wonder?

Situated at unit B14 at the Eagles Meadow shopping centre, Tenpin Wrexham has, like Cardiff, 24 lanes, so you're almost certain to get a lane no matter what time you go (although it's best to book, just in case!)

And with a 9am opening time on weekends, early risers can get straight down to some bowling action!

But of course, it's not just about bowling because, as with our other 2 Welsh centres, there's a host of complementary activities, including table tennis, pool, arcade machines, a fully licensed bar and food so good, Tripadvisor reviewer Paul P was moved to write about it!

He posted:

"
This was mine and my husband's first time here for food - very impressed! Great staff, very clean and smelt it too! The food was lovely!! Classic burger and a southern fried burger, very nice - we will be back!"

Rae B enjoyed her visit too. Under the headline ‘Great birthday treat, amazing staff’, she posted:

"
Took my daughter and five others to have two games. We didn't feel rushed, had a great time and only cost £35."

What's Welsh for "bargain"?

Another thing our 3 Welsh centres have in common is the availability of various bargain offers - ensuring a trip to Tenpin won't break the bank.

Check each individual location page for offers applicable to them, but some of those available include:

* Bowling for as little as £4 for one game, £6 for two or £8 for three.

* Bowling party packages, including bowling fun, tasty pizza and unlimited squash.

* Discounted bowling prices and selected drinks every Tenpin Tuesday.

* Lots of deals including refreshments as part of the package.

So "am beth wyt ti'n aros"? (that's 'what are you waiting for?' in Welsh).
